The 3Rs House
This flexible resource is suitable for use in a wide variety of contexts, with audiences aged from from 8 to 80! Using colourful images and working in groups to generate lively discussion, adults or children spot the difference between two family homes. Which family produces least rubbish and why? What could you and your family do to reduce the amount of waste you produce?

Recycle It!
This entertaining and informative 7 minute film combines animation with live footage and is suitable for audiences from the age of 7 upwards.
See Dan, the Recycled Man, visiting a landfill site and exploring the environmental problems that rubbish causes. He then visits various recycling plants and examines ways in which we can use the valuable resources that are so often thrown away.

Loan pack
This pack of fun-filled activities was designed to be lent to voluntary groups and can be used in a wide range of contexts. It is perfect for Cubs and Brownies packs working on their Global Challenge and Environmental awards. |

A waste diary is provided to help young people to keep a record of what they and their families throw away in a typical week. Group leaders then choose from a selection of games, art and drama activities, all based on the 3Rs. Instructions are easy to follow, and examples are provided to show how simply waste materials can be turned into something beautiful. Display sheets are also included, customised to show what and how materials can be recycled in the local area. |

KS1 Literacy - 'Might Be Useful'
'Might Be Useful' was written for The Recycling Consortium by Sarah Grace, with beautiful illustrations by Andy Council. Stan works at the dump, and sees people throwing away objects which he thinks "might be useful." He decides to use them to make a variety of wonderful objects, including musical instruments.
As well as two weeks of Literacy work for KS1 pupils, the pack includes Music activities which are easily implemented by non-specialists. |

KS2 Literacy - 'Scrapman'
This pack is based on the popular Oxford Reading Tree text 'Scrapman' by Carolyn Bear. It contains two weeks of Literacy activities suitable for pupils throughout KS2, including work based on non-fiction texts such as leaflets and posters.

Recycling Posters
A set of six A2 posters explaining the journey of various materials from the user into either the waste stream or through the recycling process. Materials covered are steel, glass, aluminium, paper, green waste and nappies. On the reverse of each poster are activities, further reading and other information.
