About half of what people put in their bins at home and school should not be thrown away at all, because it is not rubbish! Materials like paper, empty tins and cans, glass bottles and jars are useful resources which can be used to make new things. If they are thrown away they will get buried in a landfill site and new raw materials have to be found to make new things. What a waste!
Recycling waste at school
Free
recycling collections can be arranged for all schools in Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East
Somerset.
Everyone needs to remember to reduce and re-use waste as much as they can, before they recycle it. Aim to throw away as little as possible in any bin, even your recycling one. For information on how to set up a recycling scheme in your school, use the links below.

Recycling waste at home
It
is very easy to recycle waste at home and more and more people are putting materials
out for their kerbisde collection. It soon becomes a habit, just like putting
the rubbish bin out.
