Resource Futures' team of experienced teachers have been running dedicated waste education projects since 1998, promoting the 3Rs message to teachers and children in schools in South West England.
Our work has recently developed to include other aspects of Education for Sustainable development, including supporting schools with Eco-Schools work.
Current projects are:
3Rs Education: Devon, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset
Assemblies, loan resources and curriculum-linked workshops for primary and secondary schools, developing pupils' awareness of the the 3Rs.
Eco-Schools: Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire
Helping schools progress through the Eco-Schools programme through teacher training, newsletters, Networking Meetings and individual school support.
The Climate Change Connection: Bath and North East Somerset
Encouraging secondary pupils to explore to the global impacts of climate change and create more sustainable schools. This project includes a high profile student conference every year, with national speakers, local politicians and delegations from every local secondary school.
Grow it Global: various areas of South West England
Working in partnership with development charity Send a Cow, this project develops pupils' understanding of local and global food, farming and sustainability issues through meeting Ugandan farmers visiting UK farms.
Schools Energy Monitoring: Bath and North East Somerset
Linked with Eco-Schools work, this project motivates pupils to record energy use in their school, and to take action to reduce their CO2 emissions with energy switch-off campaigns.
