is an easy-to-use document detailing how to set up a new waste
action group or work alongside existing community
activity.

Guide
to Enabling Community Waste Initiatives Partnerships (ECWIP)
A guide to developing your own local community
waste network. The guide features workshop exercises, case studies
and useful information. It was created for groups and local
authorities with access to a facilitator to take
them through the process. The guide was developed through working
with the first five networks which ECWIP helped to establish.

Review Of Existing Local Community
Waste Networks 2002-2003
A review of networks in operation during
the first year of the ECWIP project – featuring case studies,
revealing what networks provide to their members and how and
an insiders view of what it is like to be a member of a network.
A set of six A2 posters explaining the journey
of various materials from the user to either the waste stream
or through the recycling process. Materials covered are
steel, glass, aluminium, paper, green waste and nappies. On the reverse of each poster
are activities, further reading and other information.

Carefully tailored to fit the demands of the national curriculum and the Literacy Hour, these resources provide more than 2 weeks of literacy and music work suitable for Y1 and Y2 pupils. Literacy activities include guided reading, text and picture sequencing, cloze procedure, diary writing, character study, labeling and lists. Music activities include singing 'recycled' songs, exploring sounds, using simple notation and composing / performing a musical narration of the story. These activities are easily implemented by non-music specialists.

This resource provides materials for more than
2 weeks of 3Rs-related literacy work for KS2 pupils, using 'Scrapman' and non-fiction texts as a starting point. Activities include diary and letter writing, persuasive writing, sequencing, charts,

and content of leaflets, writing frames,
note-taking and presentation planning.
