Waste Reduction, Re-use and Recycling
Reduce, reuse and recycle At least half of what is thrown
away by most people should not
be in the bin at all.
We can REDUCE waste by not buying disposable things or items with lots of packaging around them.
We can RE-USE waste by using things again and again, for example, by re-using carrier bags for shopping and opening envelopes carefully and using a label to use them again.
RECYCLING RECYCLING is a way of separating some waste materials and making them into new products. For example, waste paper can be recycled into new paper and steel cans can be recycled into new cans, or paper clips or parts of bridges.
